I know I should be better behaved, but I just can't help it. Col Caccio opened yesterday at Cavendish Square, which is to my mind, such excellent news even though it has nothing to do with style. Having had the pleasure of eating at the first restaurant they opened at the old Seef Building on almost all of my many visits back to Cape Town from London over the past years, I was absolutely convinced that this was the best pizza in the world. In all my travels around Europe, the US and Carribean, I have yet to be proved wrong.
I used to always tell my friends from the UK to go there when they visitied CT, and one even brought back a menu to show his north London pizzeria how it should be done. No one who ate there disagreed with my assertion either.
And now the guys have gone up-market and Cavendish is the latest of the chain to open. They do take away as well. Beautiful food in a great setting — now that it style!
