Giles for Ungaro Gets Naughty and Succeeds

So this is what we all know:
1. I have a super-sized fashion crush on Giles Deacon;
2. Lindsay Lohan made a right mess of old fashion house Emanuel Ungaro in her short tenure there;
3. Giles was appointed to mop it up and we all got a little bit nervous for him.
And so what do we make of it all, now that his first collection for Ungaro has been presented? Well, general consensus is that it is a great win. A success. Ungaro is back on track and Giles has done wonders with his devotion to the Ungaro classics, freshened up with his own sensibility. Very Paris. Very coquette. Great.
But what did I really, really like? As someone who tries to stay on this side of positive and upbeat — never writing negative reviews or comments — I was delighted with Giles' cheeky sense of humour and rather naughty swipes at La Lohan.
See the pile up of VW beetles in the background, overgrown with flowers? Does this say the revival of car crash fashion or is it a nod to Herbie Fully Loaded, LL's last sucessful movie? Either way it made me chuckle and smile.
Oh and that model up top is Vogue Nippon's fashion editor at large, Anna Della Russo making her star turn on the catwalk!
