Animal paws are so October 2010, apparently. Seen on the SA Fashion Week runway by Clive Rundle, a theatrical opening to his closing show — one that included the feathery animal claws you see on the gloves.
It echos a spread that the great Steven Meisel shot for Italian Vogue this month, where the rather tortued looking Mariacarla Boscono is shown wearing full-on furry animal paws.
Now don't get me wrong, I am not advocating the use of fur (very, very unnecessary) nor am I suggesting that come next winter we will all be donning creature hands. But it is an interesting trend that is worth having a look at. Even if only for shits and giggles.
