The Tavi Effect? Or is This Really What Blog Writers Wear?

I awoke this morning to a kerfuffle on the Twitter feeds. An indie clothing label called Modcloth had launched a new signature dress called "The Blog Writer Dress". Priced at $132 and described thusly, “as a full-time blog writer, you know that there’s no reason to sacrifice ease in the name of style when you’re swanning around for hours with your laptop in tow. This loose-fitting babydoll dress makes a perfect match of both with its functional button front, cuffed short sleeves, and dark grey trim. A star-like pattern adds to its charm, as do its useful pockets. Transition from typing at home to meeting up with your readers for cupcakes by adding a fitted blazer, grey tights and a high, sturdy pair of heels, and you’ll be feeling both comfortable and confident as you chat the night away.”
I have three main issues with this, as do most of the other commentators.
1. "Swanning" is not something that I have been known to do. Swanning implies gentle movement, lack of goals and direction. Every blogger I know is none of these as we like to pay the rent and eat. Swanning does not pay the rent.
2. But eating cupcakes is a delight. Many of us do this. Almost none of us do this with our readers, or with any regularity. We are too busy trying to pay the rent.
3. While trying to pay the rent, we are unlikely to have $132 to buy a stupid dress.
I totally blame Tavi. The way they have styled it looks like she may have had something to do with it. And everyone knows a 13 year old doesn't need to pay the rent.
