Dolce & Gabbana Stars Appear on Everything!
Starting with two magazine covers this month — Anne Hathaway and Jessie J are both wearing items from the Dolce & Gabbana 'stars' collection for their appearances. Anne's cover has already attracted some negative press for this outfit on Twitter and it got me thinking about how many celebrities have worn this collection without any backlash at all — so why her? And why now? I just think that's weird. And then the good old UK Daily Mail (or Hate Mail as I like to call it due to their right wing reactionary news stories but GREAT celebrity coverage) also picked up on the ubiquity of the design last night.
So to all those of you who have been hating on Annie's cover, look at who else has worn the Stars. What about the fierce Solange Knowles and True Blood's Evan Rachel Wood — both of whom wore the trouser version. And looked amazing.
And how about this incredible line up of ladies who did it in colour — Zoe Saldana reversing out the black and white, Ashley Tisdale going for the bright, bold red knitted version and Fergie Ferg in yellow at the Teen Choice Awards. Stars really are everywhere. On stars.
And finally, it's not all accounted for without mentioning the black and white classics. Lily Allen's is a baby doll version to accommodate her pregnancy. Olivia Wilde's is the party version with a hem below the knee. Lucy Liu chose just the big bold stars in a sequin mini and Jessica Alba did maternity chic in her vertical striped maxi number.
I have counted no less than 15 celebrities in Dolce & Gabbana stars pieces in the last month alone. Is it possible that this design is the must-have of the season? And how do they make so many unique items? Totally fascinated with this. Star spotting begins now. Please alert us to all celebs spotted in stars moving forward. We could build a gallery of them all!
