Anne Hathaway in Alexander McQueen for London Premier of One Day
This is not the first time that Anne Hathaway has worn Alexander McQueen. She wore Sarah Burton's designs last week at the US premier of her new movie One Day. and looked utterly sensational. This piece from the Resort 2012 collection is, I think, even better. She wore it to last night's premier in London.
She is in fact in head to foot AMcQ. That skulls clutch is one that I have lusted after for quite some time. Those witchhazel shoes are the perfect accompaniment to the ribbon dress. And the length...I LOVE the length. It is so flattering and fitted so perfectly that the proportions work. It is so difficult to get tea length right — but, folks, if you were ever in any doubt THIS is the way to do it.
Anne has said she admires the way that Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, has brought ladylike dressing back into fashion. And of course, Kate has been something of an AMcQ devotee of late. So I am not surprised that Anne has also taken to the collections. It makes total sense. I just wish that Kate would also be influenced by Anne a teeny tiny bit — most specifically in relation to hair and make-up. Anne's here is perfect. Beautiful old-fashioned waves, subtle pink lip, emphasised eye without having to ring it with black. Stunning. Over to Kate now. Are we going to see a change? What do you think?
