The Art of Fashion
They attended the rodeo later and Kate wore a Alice, by Temperley blouse and Goldsign jeans with her own boots. Prince William wore Levi 501s and boots gifted to him by the Canadian government. Kate is simply better prepared, isn't she? 6/10
The next day, Wills stuck to his one outfit while Kate swapped out her blouse for one by the main line Temperley London. I love the way William is always at hand to make sure Kate feels guided and secure.
After the Rodeo, it was time to leave Canada and for the final day, Kate wore a bold red Catherine Walker dress and coat suit, with HRH The Queen's maple leaf brooch — a fitting end to her Canadian adventures. 8/10 (for additional colour)
Off to Los Angeles then, and Kate arrived in a pale lavender Roksanda Ilincic asymmetrical frock with cute rear detailing. Soft and pretty,& it was& possibly a little understated for an arrival, but definitely interesting and more fashion forward than the bulk of her wardrobe. I liked it a lot. 8/10
That evening, she donned her only American designed dress — suitably from Diane von Furstenburg — in a brilliant green silk, with buttons down the back and a soft tie waist. I really think that Kate needs to explore contrast belts to make outfits more personal to her, but it looked lovely and bright. 8/10
The next day was the polo and both Prince William and Kate looked fantastic. Kate wore another Jenny Packham dress, this time in hand-painted silk. Beautiful. Oh and can we just discuss the NO TIGHTS and awesome strappy platform sandals situation? At last! My favourite look from the whole tour. 9/10
That evening they were off to the BAFTA gala, for which I award Kate 9/10 for her dress, before getting up bright and early for a series of engagements in the less affluent part of town. For the skid row art school project and her departure from North America, Kate wore high street — a navy crochet top and on-trend pleated skirt from Whistles. Oh and they flew home commercial. 8/10
So what did you all think about her outfits? What was your favourite from the weekend? Isn't it interesting that her last week was filled with more dressed-down looks and more edgy fashion and colour that wasn't navy, than the first more tentative week of shift dresses when she played it very safe? I loved the more youthful looks and think that the mix of high street and designer really suits her. But over to you for full input. Go.
