Well, this holiday town on the west coast of Africa is somewhat lacking in what is generally perceived to be gracious style. That isn't to say that it is a town without appeal — far from it. I have just spent the last few days waking up to the sounds of the sea lapping at the beach outside my door, and wandering the dusty streets renovating all the wonderful old fishermen's cottages. However, there are still a lot of chaps with ponytails...
