This year Oprah Winfrey, one of the most influential women in the world and my uber-boss, has looked amazing in new fashion designer Victoria Beckham and that made me super-happy. Now she is down under in Australia for two of her last shows in their current form and she has chosen to support and promote a local designer by wearing her garment to attend a 'Welcome to Sydney' party. 
The soiree and dazzling fireworks display in her honour was held at the city’s Botanical Gardens and hosted by New South Wales’s premier Kristina Kenneally. Then pyrotechnics lit up the night sky, and concluded the show with the lighting of a giant red O over the harbour bridge.
Dressed in a stunning kaftan by Australian designer, Camilla Franks, Oprah's outfit was meant to resemble one of the city's iconic birds, the Rosella.
Let's just hope that the next time Oprah comes to visit us here in South Africa we can persuade her to select from one of our local designers for her appearances. Can you imagine? Who do you think would be the best choice for an Oprah outfit?
