I struggled a bit in deciding whether or not to do this post. First of all it is an array of utterly stunning — and mostly appropriate frocks. All are couture. All are beautifully worn and accessorised. This is unquestionably a young girl who we, as fashion followers, need to look out for. She is utterly flawless in her ability to carry off these garments and hasn't put a foot wrong. And she has her own opinions and views on what she wears too. This is not 100% the work of a stylist.
And yet, this girl is 12 years old. She is Elle Fanning and she is promoting a Sofia Coppola movie called Somewhere.
I decided that fashion needed to be the winner here, and she (and her family) have chosen this life of limelight so it is only fair. But I would never in a million years put an ordinary 12-year-old girl on a blog because it is just a bit creepy.
One of my most precious people in the world is 12 years old. She is a child. She is certainly blonde, blue-eyed, smart and can dance — just like Elle. But she is also just a child. And wouldn't have a clue, despite my best efforts, who Valentino is. Nor would she care. But Elle does and has worn of late the following (from left to right) Azzaro, Marc Jacobs, Valentino (twice) and Rodarte. Seriously.
