The Assistant and I have agreed that Blake Lively is that girl who would have played goal attack in the netball team at school. You know, pretty, healthy and just on the right side of too-cool-for-skool. She was probably on the fringes of our friendship circle and we hung out every so often at parties. Where we wished we dressed like her. And kind of loved her long-term boyfriend.
Of course we don't know that for sure. But whatevs.
What we also don't really know for sure — but everything points to it — is that Ms Blake Lively is the new face of Chanel handbags. Anointed by Anna Wintour, chosen personally by Kaiser Karl Lagerfeld.
E! News has it on good authority that the Gossip Girl star was just in Paris shooting a handbag campaign for Uncle Karl. Plus, in American Vogue‘s December 2010 issue, Anna Wintour makes a reference to Karl “scouting” Blake. The ad campaign should run early next year.
