Wardrobe Rules for TV Series Gossip Girl. Sound Familiar?

As a stylist, every single job you work on has its own set of rules. Here at Associated Magazines we have rules that relate to all our titles (Cosmo, Marie Claire, O Mag) when shooting fashion — and ones that relate specifically to O Magazine. This ensures that no matter whether you are the fashion ed (me) or a freelancer or a photographer, you work within the same parameters and the clearly defined reader gets to read what she/he enjoys.
For example, at O we never shoot an outfit comprised entirely of black clothes despite that it is what the fashion team wears most days. This is because it is tonally a misfit for the appearance of the book, it doesn't lift off the page and grab a reader's attention, and because it is not an exciting way to dress!
And now it turns out that TV series Gossip Girl has a similar rule. They sent a memo out to the staffers at W magazine (one of the most high fashion mags in the world) to warn them that if they wanted a bit of GG extras coverage while they were shooting there, the folks should avoid outfits that are "all white, all black or 'crazy stripes'" although I am guessing headbands were perfectly acceptable.
PS: I wonder which of the cast members has the role with the internship at W. Anyone?
