In the news this week, are two wonderful 10-year fashion anniversaries.
First of all the iconic Balenciaga Lariat handbag has reached this milestone, with what feels like undue haste. I can't believe it was such a long time ago that any 'It' girl worth her salt had one of these over her arm. How I longed to be an 'It' girl just to get one of these. And yet, they haven't lost any of their charm in the ensuing decade and will probably live on for many years to come. A collectible now, Balenciaga are releasing a special anniversary edition in lizard-embossed soft vintage lambskin.
Possibly even more exciting, if that is possible, is the 10th anniversary of the Marc By Marc Jacobs line. And in celebration of this achievement, MJ is re-issuing some of the collection's most popular pieces — for both men and women. This is how classics are born.
