The Art of Fashion

Of Cameras, Clutches and Soft Leather

So recently I have been posting a lot of photos that I have shot with my little point-and-shoot Canon Ixus, which is what I use when I go out at night. First, it means that I can carry it in a clutch bag unobtrusively, and secondly it has a really strong relative flash so I don't have to worry about carrying extra eqiupment. Unfortunately you have no control over your settings and your photos are always just a little grainy due to the flash.
So for the next week I will be posting photos taken with my proper camera — also Canon but this is a 450D — which is a digital SLR.

I am doing a digital photography course at Ruth Prowse at the moment to try and get to grips with all the technological developments in photography since I last learned how to do it. So you will see the end results of some of my projects right here.

But first, these are of my friend Miranda. Note the supple leather jacket (studio.w at Woolworths would you believe it), the Tom Ford sunglasses and the soft grey cashmere scarf. No doubt these are wardrobe essentials.
