Lara Stone for Vogue US is a Lesson in Ladylike

The new November issue of US Vogue features a fashion story capturing the essence of the new ladylike trend. Influenced strongly by the television series Mad Men, this look has been pioneered by Louis Vuitton and Prada. And it is not going away.
So here is my advice — if you can't afford LV or local designer versions of this, you have to go vintage. This is one of the rare trends that is a literal revision of the late 50s style. This is of course because it is based on a period piece of TV that has stayed true to the time period and used a great deal of vintage clothing in their wardrobe. And so it comes full circle back to you and your ability to hunt down these special pieces at your favourite vintage store.
That's the good news. The bad news is that there isn't as much of it around anymore so be quick!
We all know that Lara Stone's connection with South Africa is a less than auspicious one. She came here to get treatment for her alcohol issues over a year ago and has gone from strength to strength ever since. Including her marriage to Little Britain star David Walliams. Who, by the way, is very tall and very polite in person.
