I attended the unexpected Design4Life Africa Fashion Show last night at The Runway. In association with Topshop and Tabeisa, students from South African fashion schools like CPUT, were invited to design dresses that would have both commercial appeal, and could be manufactured by small businesses in disadvantaged communities. The winning designer will attend London Fashion Week next year.
Here are some of my favourite dresses. I have to say that the standard was surprisingly high for 2nd and 3rd year students and my expectations were definitely exceeded.
