Venice Film Festival Red Carpet Day 2: Carnage
Oscar winning actress Kate Winslet (and face of St John clothing) arrived in Venice for the film festival yesterday looking like she meant business. While she had a body-hugging black slip dress on, she covered up with a mocha deconstructed tux jacket — which I rather liked — and some black and beige shoes — which I really hated. Really hated. I was much, much happier when she arrived at the premier of her new film Carnage later last night, in that stunning dress and shoes.
Let's break it down. I woke up this morning to a Tweet from Victoria Beckham with this picture of Kate and Vicky saying how beautiful she thought Kate looked in her design. I say HALL-TO-THE-ELUJAH. This Victoria Beckham design is as deceptively simple as it is elegant. You start to look closely and you notice the details. The shoulder that is fitted for comfort under the stand up neck for dramatic line. The zip that allows for a walking gap. The panels for a bit of corsetry where you need it. And the stretch for comfort. Never let it be said that VB doesn't take into account what women want in their dresses. And look how beautiful it is. And those Jimmy Choo heels....I die.
Also at the premier and causing a bit of a fashion stir was model Bar Refaeli. Dressed in a black lace cut-out jumpsuit by an unknown designer. I think it is fine. And goodness knows she has a B-O-D-Y that she can show off in that get up. I just don't love it as much as other people seem to. That's all
