Cape Town Fashion Week 10 — Notes Day 1

1. Model of the week is easy. It is Sarah. Somalia via Kenya to Perth and now slinking down our very own catwalks. Tried to book her today for an O shoot but she is off to walk London Fashion Week. Sigh.
2. I am still struggling with the personality of CT Fashion Week. I love Michelle Ludek, but fear that she and other designers feel they have to 'sex it up' for fashion week when commercially all we want are lovely, comfy, pretty frocks. And I will be buying a couple of hers come the summer.
3. Geek chic is the winning style trend of the week. So Cape Town. So nailed by Coppelia — see second and third looks above.
4. I have already placed my summer order with Tart for the 80s inspired assymetrical black wrap dress. Seriously, I think I had one back then. Also liked the orange top and easy fit pants above.
5. Speaking of the 80s, Good did a polka dot dress that was so similar to a Hip Hop at Underworld dress I owned in the 80s that I nearly cried. I loved that dress. Cut my own patterns off it too. But I lost them. And yes, I am that old. Good also did that divine blue shirt dress up top!
6. There was no BAD show last night. But only one show kicked butt.
7. Thanks to the magnificent photographic talents of Simon Deiner and team.
