Princess Charlene Wears Local on Honeymoon in Durban
I expect my definition of honeymoon is different to newly-wed royals Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco. I have to assume that because you can bet your last dollar that I would be signing divorce papers faster than an Olympic swimmer swims if I had to visit a president and attend some long-drawn-out Olympic functions on my honeymoon. Just saying.
But our girl from Benoni who married a prince did fly the flag for local fashion — and for the new royal game of recycling fashion — when she wore her crochet Terence Bray dress to meet Jacob Zuma and Thobeka Madiba yesterday in Durban. She had already worn this dress when she did her Top Billing interview about a month ago.
Princess Charlene also wore an Akris beaded jumpsuit to the Olympic reception, that she had worn to a fashion show as part of the Monaco Grand Prix celebrations. But I like that one quite a lot so would have liked to have seen more images. If I recall correctly it had wide palazzo legs and I am a sucker for that.
Apparently the royal couple are heading here to Cape Town tomorrow for some charity appointments so let's see if we can spot them around town. Do you think that Charlene will support the wearing local on Friday's campaign? Now that would be a boost for the programme!
