Kylie Minogue — A Tale of Feathers and Sparkle
So I am just going to go ahead and declare it, "I love Kylie Minogue". Probs not so much that I was that guy shouting "But I love you Kylie" during her quiet songs, but well enough. I will also hazard a guess that pretty much every sequin and every Swarovski crystal in the land was at the Cape Town Grand West last night. But all that aside, let's talk fashion.
Eight costume changes. Not the 27 someone said there were, but sufficient to keep a fashionista happy. I had my favourites. And most of those involved feathers. Yes, peeps, we all know feathers are back in fashion but Kyles took it to a whole new level and I LOVED it. Fave costume? Black feathered skirt and gold top, with a top hat. Awesome.
Second favourite? The last look which was the torn tee and denim shorts with a feathered capelet. So 70s cool. And of course we loved the Aphrodite opening look too! Well, we pretty much loved every look, but mostly the tiny sparkling shoes that went with them — Louboutins, of course.
So we say thank you to Dolce & Gabbana for the amazing fashion parade. Thanks to Kylie and her crew for an A-MAY-ZING show, so, so happy. And thanks to all the girls and gays who went last night and made my birthday celebrations so awesome. You need to excuse me now, I need to go and download Kylie's back catalogue now. And this from an old goth.
