So I have packed my bag and I am off to Joburg for ARISE Africa Fashion Week. I will be posting all week on the outfits that catch my eye, and I will give you the first glimpse of what collections really rocked.
I will also keep you up to date on my own outfits via Twitter (see on down there on the right side) — I have packed my glorious new Stiaan Louw outfit (I am properly in love with it), two dresses from Michelle Ludek (one for opening, one for closing awards), my dresses from Tart, my separates from August, a bunch of Woolies and Country Road basics, a dress from Carducci Women and a fabulous Superella jumpsuit. Yee ha. It's going to be a fashion fiesta.
Just a serious note about Stiaan. Never could you want a more lovely designer, but in addition to his personal loveliness, it is the shapes and the details and the fabrics that really make his garments sing. I sat with my goodies last night and just marveled at them — things like the button on the cuff which was such an unexpected yet perfect choice. Anyhoo, I will be investing in lots more where that came from.
