On day six of the Cannes 2011 film fiesta The Tree of Life premiered. Starring Sean Penn and Brad Pitt, this was the one everyone who wanted to dress up had been waiting for. In general it was a bit meh on the red carpet actually. But there were some smashing stand outs. Starting with the outfits worn by the female lead in the movie, Jessica Chastain. A red head in red for day and yellow for night, this is a lady after my own heart. I will IMDB her immediately.
Another lady who pulled out all the stops on two occasions yesterday was Zoe Saldana. Wearing Georgio Armani and then my new fave, Vionnet, later, she really did look elegant, well dressed but with that proverbial twist. She also looks great for a very slim person. The style of her frocks adding some curve and interest to her figure. Well played lady!
Of course one must comment on the show stopper Versace Atelier that Angelina Jolie wore to accompany Brad Pitt to the premier in that utterly sublime brown/black hue. One should probably not comment on the head-to-foot white ensemble that he wore earlier in the day. Apparently he got booed. I'm not surprised. Honestly.
