January Jones Covers Marie Claire UK for May 2011
Wowzer. She looks ok, doesn't she? I am actually not a Betty Draper fan. I find the coldness too hard to bear. The icy blonde thing is fine for a bit, but I find it wears on me and I just don't want it around me anymore. I am quite sure January Jones is nothing like that in real life, but you can't help extrapolate, can you? And then you see beautiful stories like this, and she seems alright again.
I am particularly fond of the colour palette. Loving the purple hues and the turquoise zebra print — both are kind of unexpected. Still, I would have liked to have seen some expression on JJ's face through the story. The cover hints at the warmth of her real personality — it would have been amazing to have had it come through stronger in the accompanying fashion spread. Hey, even Harpers are doing smiles in fashion these days. It's a whole new world out there....
