Vanity Fair Juicy Couture Party Red Carpet Best Dressed
As if there aren't enough parties for Jessica Chastain to dig up a frock for at this time of year. Vanity Fair and Juicy Couture teamed up to throw a pre-Oscars shindig on Monday night. And the red carpet was impressive. Cocktail-impressive mind you. Jessica herself wore Alexander McQueen again. Rather less successfully than the spectacular black dress she wore a couple of weeks ago. But she looked nice. I quite liked the subtleness of Ali Larter's white Valentino shirt dress, but it may have been a hair too casual for the occasion. But Olivia Munn was dressed in a Lela Rose fifties-inspired dress and look utterly sublime. The soft, feminine fit was just wonderful. I loved it. Best dressed nominee as Kelly Osbourne would say. Perfection.
But before we crown her the best dressed, let's take a look at some other zingers. You know how I have come to love a jumpsuit on the red carpet. Well young Shailene Woodley pulled a Juicy Couture one out the bag for the event. Appropriate since they were a host. Extra points. And she is young and hip and looked cute as a button. Double word score, if I can mix my game metaphors. If it weren't for that handkerchief hem on Emily Rossum's Jenny Packham dress, that may have taken the win. But I really don't like it despite the wonderful colour and the way she has worn it. Hayden Pannettiere also looked lovely in the 70s-inspired red dress, but that yellow bag just looks cheap and is totally the wrong kind of colour blocking. Sorry lady. You do look nice though.
And so it seems that it is a tussle between Shaileen and Olivia for the best dressed prize. I am going to go for the Olivia florals. What about you?
