Have you noticed how many of the young stars are hitting the red carpet of cocktail functions in trousers of late? And for all of us who like a trouser, this is excellent news. However, to get it right for right now, you need to follow a few guidelines:
1. The trousers must be skinny;

3. The trousers should have an evening shine to them — either in leather like Solange Knowles, or tuxedo satin like Olivia Palermo;
4. and finally, you should team the trouser with a heel and a cool, cropped top. Unless you are in your twenties, when a super cute hipster jumper like Shailene Woodley is an awesome choice.
