So Candice Swanepoel, a local model who has already achieved much as a Victoria Secret Angel, has landed one of the most prestigious high-fashion magazine covers in the world. This is a pretty big deal.
It is not often that a glamour and swim wear girl crosses over to high fashion to start with. Of course Giselle is an exception, but usually they are simply built differently. But if a girl works super-super-hard it can be done. And with the endorsement of Mario Testino only a couple of months ago, SA's very own model has landed on the cover of Vogue Italia. Which is, of course, my personal favourite of the Vogues as most of you will know.
I think it is in part due to good timing and another part a statement of where fashion is right now (or has returned to — see the last Gucci collection I wrote about). But mostly it is because our girl is beautiful, hard working and nice. It doesn't hurt that boys lust after her either. Congrats lady.
