The Art of Fashion
Except that she is wrong about this campaign. I think it is amazing, smart and exactly what the brand — and Julianne — needed right now.
Julianne does cool stuff like model for Tom Ford, win four separate Oscar noms and play the slightly alcoholic, needy bestie of Colin Firth in A Single Man. So by doing the Talbots campaign, she brings a desperately needed coolness to them. Which is a bargain at any price.
For her, I think she needed a dose of pretty after teetering on the edge of edgy for a hair too long. This campaign does straddle unrealistic romanticism, but I argue that is exactly what middle American (and I) needs right now — and it is unavoidably a trend. She looks amazing. I want to be in a world of softness and hair pampering, roses and silk suits — thus would buy this kit if I lived in the US. Isn't that the entire point? Fashion as escapism. It is an art. What do you guys think of Julianne Moore for Talbots campaign?
